On each list pasted in your child's homework book are highlighted/circled words. These are your child’s focus words for the week. The first four that are circled are the words that your child displayed difficulty with on their pre-test (PLEASE ONLY FOCUS ON YOUR CHILD'S FIRST FOUR WORDS. IT IS IMPORTANT TO BUILD STUDENTS UP FOR SUCCESS!) Each set of focus words will contain words that correspond with the week’s letter/sound focus and/or some extension words. These are the words we will also be focusing on in class. On Fridays, students will undertake a post-test (testing words they have already learnt at school and home). In addition, students will be given a pre-test to establish new words to focus on for the following week.
